The studio collaborated with Seth Tillett to create Light Verse, a public art installation in the plaza of the former Verizon Tower in Lower Manhattan. Two walls of mirror-polished steel are inscribed with a circuit board diagram and fragments of Walt Whitman’s Give Me The Splendid Silent Sun (1865). By combining a diagram of power flows within the tower with words from Whitman’s great love poem to New York City, the light installation maps the grammar of energies flowing between the natural world and the life of a city, between people and buildings, entities and ideas, goods and desires, all of it conducted along the wires, roads, rivers and nerves of a vibrant metropolis.

The plaque, written by Seth Tillett and installed in the plaza, reads: On the 200th anniversary of the birth of Walt Whitman (1819-1892), Sabey Data Centers offers a place of illumination and reflection.
